Connect A Countertop Slabs

Quartz Slabs For Sale Near Me

Attaching new countertop slabs to kitchen and bathroom cabinets is an effective way to change the appearance of the room. Many homeowners use laminate worktops because they are economical, stain resistant and come in a variety of styles, colors and patterns. Always connect worktops to cabinets that are properly installed and planed.

Place perpendicular pieces of prefabricated laminate counter top up on a tarpaulin or old blanket. Load a string of glue joints to the slanted ends of the worktop, and then use your hands to push the pieces tightly together. Release the I-bolts in the carpentry slots on the countertop slabs, and then use the hands to partially tighten them. Confirm that the pieces are right, and then close tighten the screws. When tightening the bolts, use a damp cloth to wipe out excess glue joints.

Lift the worktop carefully and position it carefully using an assistant. When the countertop is in place, press the backsplash firmly against the wall. Make sure there is no gap between the wall and the backsplash. Use sandpaper to sand any curves in tiles to make it even with the wall, if necessary. Place a level on the worktop to see if it is level. If it is not, place shims between the countertop and the cabinet corner braces. Instruct the assistant to hold the bench firmly against the wall, then uses a drill to drill control holes two thirds of the way up through the cabinet’s corners and into the underside of the laminate countertop slabs.
