Office Furniture Desk Ideas
Whether you have a basic regular desk or an old one with hack and scratches, covering your office furniture desk can enhance the look of your office. Create a one-of-a-kind workspace and add your office decor by covering the desk in an attractive fabric. Make it a feminine place with a floral print or jazz up the space with a bright modern design.
Measure on the desktop, both horizontally and vertically. Subtract one inch from each measurement. These new numbers are the size you cut the fabric. Gently measure the fabric and cut the measurements you calculated after measuring the office desk. Cut the fabric on the strait of grain, which is along the threads and perpendicular to them, instead of diagonally. Paint the back of the fabric with a thin layer of decoupage medium. Lift the fabric carefully and place it on the desk. Move the fabric around to get it centered on the desktop. Carefully exercise a few folds or folds in the fabric without stretching the fabric.
Allow the decoupage medium to dry completely, about 30 to 45 minutes. Paint a layer of decoupage media across the furniture desk, both fabric and edge. Allow this coat to dry, which should take about 30 minutes. Sand the desk easily to remove any irregularities and wipe it clean with a paper towel. Add a coat and let it dry. Continue adding layers of decoupage medium, grinding between each application until you have six rocks on top of the desktop. Allow the desk to sit overnight before using it.
Tips and warnings
If you want a different color frame to fabric the top, sand and paint the office furniture desk before you lay the fabric. Many busy workers appreciate the extra space an L-shaped desk provides. While giving workers a lot more space to spread their paperwork, the size of the work also creates a challenge when organizing an office. Measure the space and scratch the measurements onto paper. Measure all sides of a desk, if they are all of the same size – the outsides of L, the inside of L, the width of the top and the height – to get a true picture of its dimensions.
Create a sketch of your plans. Sketch on your room, size, on checked paper; each box can represent one foot, for example, or a half foot. If you think you know where you want your desk to go, sketch them in place, too, to scale, to see how they really fit the room. If you have not yet decided on the desktop location, draw the desk in the correct scale on a separate paper squared paper, cut these pieces to make moving desktop models. Move the desktop pieces around the page until you create an arrangement that appeals to you. Use desktop to split the space if two or more people will share it. This way you can visually share the office in distinct workplaces.diy patio bench with corner
